Do you find it challenging to form and maintain healthy relationships, perhaps struggling with trust issues, setting boundaries or fear of abandonment? Have you experienced difficulties in regulating your emotions, leading to frequent mood swings or outbursts of anger or sadness? Or maybe you feel pressured to achieve perfection or seek validation from others, leading to low self-esteem and a feeling of never being good enough?

If any of this sounds familiar, know that you’re not alone. Our past experiences, especially those from childhood, can really leave their mark on our adult lives. But here’s the thing: you don’t have to carry that weight forever.

I would be honoured to work with you to process some of your most challenging childhood moments and give you a fresh start in your adult life. Trauma can impact us in many ways, leading to fears, challenges in relationships, negative self-image, suicidal ideation, and difficulty with controlling emotions. By addressing our childhood trauma head-on, I can provide you with tools and perspectives that will allow you to take back control of your life and develop a meaningful connection to yourself.

Often, we think of our childhood in the past tense and believe that we should just “get over it” Im here to tell you that without processing our early attachment experiences, we will continue to experience triggers, thoughts, and emotions that take over and cause immense pain and suffering.

In addition to my focus on adverse childhood experiences, I also specialize in supporting individuals navigating grief and loss. Losing a loved one can be a deeply distressing experience, and I provide a safe space for clients to engage in meaningful reflection, emotional processing, and the journey towards hope and acceptance. My background in trauma work can assist those experiencing complex grief as well as prolonged grief disorder due to unresolved past challenges.

Furthermore, I offer couples therapy aimed at addressing conflict, rebuilding trust, and fostering deeper emotional bonds. My work in narrative therapy allows couples to speak openly and honestly about their situation to seek support in times of turbulence. Often, our childhood experiences show up in how we interact with our partners. I work with couples to uncover and address existing patterns to pave the way to cultivating a more meaningful dynamic. I am informed by the Gottman method, a specific modality that enhances couples’ ability to lean into each other during challenges to understand their partner and themselves better. I work with couples of all backgrounds and experiences, but I unfortunately do not provide support to couples currently in a high-conflict divorce, separation or legal/custody court case.

Whatever challenges you may be facing, I’m here to provide compassionate support and guidance as you embark on your journey towards healing and growth. Together, we can work towards a brighter and more fulfilling future.

As Julie Andrews would say, these are a few of my favourite things: slow Saturday mornings, my dog rolling around on the grass, a sweet cup of coffee, planning my next adventure, local boutiques, farmers markets, and supporting small businesses in my community!
